Well... not so fast.

Social media is an integral platform for newsletter growth. You're reading this email, right? Well, there's a good chance you got here via social media.

The problem with social media promotion is most people expect more subscribers from social than they actually get. And so they get discouraged—and quit promoting there.

But here's the thing: it's a slow build. It's a long game.

Social media subscribers are less like a fire hydrant and more like a leaky faucet: you get drips of subscribers as you continually promote and drive users to your profiles—which should have a link to your newsletter, btw.

Twitter is still a valuable audience-building social platform that shouldn't be ignored for newsletter creators: Twitter is a text-based platform that pairs well with the text-based quality of newsletters.
